Computational study of three-dimensional Lagrangian transport and mixing in a stirred tank reactor

چکیده
The detection of compartments and dead zones as well the estimation mixing efficiency in stirred tanks are vital interest for a variety biochemical chemical processes. Here, numerically derived time-dependent 3D fluid velocity fields tank reactor computed using Lattice Boltzmann Method. Mixing is analysed by means Lagrangian Coherent Structures which allow to unravel states complex flows. This analysis achieved computing Finite Time Lyapunov Exponents applying recent trajectory-based network methods on three-dimensional flow. results reveal zone low interaction upper region five additional transient compartments. detects cross-mixing parcels between different but very high inside each compartment. also found an Intensity. Time-averaging field prior considered extract most influential Structures.
